Welcome to my site! My name is Ella Thomas, and I am a designer, photographer, and student all in one. I first sparked my love for design when I worked on my high school newspaper. From there, I came to TCU to pursue my BFA in graphic design.

My blend of passions and love for sports has pushed me into new creative fields within my community. In 2025, I had the pleasure of joining the creative team at TCU Football to work as a creative intern. Not only does this role bring me closer to a sport that I love, but it has also allowed me to advance my photography skills to enhance my design. The blend of creativity, organization, and teamwork will continue to help me improve as a creative.

Awards & Recognitions

  • The Kick A** show is a juried exhibition held at Texas Christian University in February, during which an outside juror selects submitted student work to include in an exhibition.

    In 2026, my infographic titled “The Money Game” was selected for entry and awarded the “on the money” award for best in show.

    In 2025, I had two typography projects chosen to be included.

  • Awarded to a group of outstanding graphic design and design studies students, including scholarship winners, who are invited to join by faculty. Applicants submit current work in a competitive portfolio examination to apply.

  • My Doomsday Film Festival Poster was accepted in the juried Texas Association of Schools of Art’s ARTOVATION 26 competition. ARTOVATION is a statewide Texas online art and design competition open to all students in 2-year and 4-year colleges/universities, as well as graduate students. Catey Arnold, Curator of Exhibitions at the Rockport Center for the Arts in Rockport, Texas, was the juror for the competition.

  • Awarded to students in the College of Fine Arts with excellent grade point average.

  • Earned an award for a functional level of proficiency in both English and Spanish.

  • Awarded to students in KSPA’s contest for ability to design, write, or photograph based on a prompt. First place in news page design regionals in 2021 and second place in 2022.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Bridge and proficient knowledge of After Effects, and XD.

  • Ability to deign and prototype in Figma.

  • With 10+ years of studying Spanish, I can cary conversation and understand communication.
