Doomsday

Film Festival

Based on the film Dr. Strangelove, a film festival was designed to highlight dark comedy and political satire. By using comedy to push large issues to the main stage, it gives space for education around the topics. The event will tie in modern politics and discuss how we can have healthy discussions about serious events. To better promote the event, a poster, branding, and social media were needed.

task

A poster concept and headline were designed to match the satire of the event. Using polyfill fiber stuffing, letters could be shaped and photographed to create part of a headline. The letters were then combined with digitally manipulated type using Photoshop. Lastly, context and background were added to reference an explosion. To create cohesion between the poster and digital assets, a simplified set of logos, icons, and bright grainy gradients was created.
